Today, we bring you a style from Yohji Yamamoto's 2023-24AW collection, available at FASCINATE_THE R (Osaka Shinsaibashi) and FASCINATE KYOTO (Kyoto Kawaramachi), featuring the collection's main pattern.
Highly Fashionable Combination of All-Over Patterns
This styling combines a coat with a gobelin jacquard pattern and a blouse with an oriental pattern, creating an ensemble of all-over patterns.
This combination of all-over patterns is frequently seen on the runway and creates a highly fashionable look.
It's a piece that represents this season, so be sure to check it out.
Model 181cm/62kg. Wearing size: coat/size 1, shirt/size 3, pants/size 3.
Items with a Contemporary Design for this Season
This is a coat that was worn in Runway LOOK6 and is made of gobelin jacquard with polyester yarn.
What's remarkable about this coat is that the pattern is replicated on the inside just like the outside, so you can feel the design even on the inner side when it moves.
It's worth noting that this coat has been treated with a traditional Kyoto-style ink dyeing technique that skilled craftsmen have been practicing since the Muromachi period.
The result is a unique warmth of color that can't be achieved with chemical dyes.
Additionally, the pattern used is "老虎残夢" (Tiger's Lingering Dreams), which gained popularity in the 2022-23AW collection, and it's been finished with fringed hems, making it a standout piece in terms of collection aesthetics.
For the inner garment, they've chosen a gown blouse that was worn in Runway LOOK4.20.
It features an Oriental pattern inspired by Central Asia, which is in line with the theme of the 23-24AW collection.
The blouse's left front body is double-layered, and the waist cord passes through the left front body only.
The fabric used is a jacquard fabric made from Indian cotton and dyed with traditional Indian indigo dye.
To add another layer of artistry, it's also been ink-dyed in a Kyoto dyeing workshop.
Collaboration Boots with a Distinct Matte Look
In collaboration with Guidi, the renowned Italian tanner with a history spanning over 100 years that gained attention for its use in multiple looks in the runway collection,
this design is based on Guidi's sneaker sole model VS series and features a long back zip.
It incorporates Guidi's distinctive back zip boot characteristic, where the shaft curls back, creating a draped effect with each wear.
The leather used is a matte-finished and supple calfskin, different from the horse full-grain leather that we often order. This choice offers a distinct look, making it a great second pair for those who already own the horseback zip boots.
