About collaboration with Suzume Uchida

Suzume Uchida is a painter who graduated from the University of Tsukuba.

Since winning the grand prize at the Ghost Art Exhibition in 2014, she has been expanding her activities to include group exhibitions, magazine publications, and art galleries.

I myself remember that I was quite surprised when I found out about Suzume Uchida after seeing the collection of Youji Yamamoto.

After experiencing anorexia in the past, I am encouraged to see her fighting hard as a painter every day.

This item first appeared in the spring/summer collection of 2018 in the Yohji Yamamoto collection, and it was a big sensation all over the world.

Uchida received an offer from Yamamoto to write a ghost.

Since then, collaboration has continued in each season, and the world view created by Uchida's various works and Yoji Yamamoto's clothes has become a popular series that continues to attract people all over the world.

These items were released in the spring and summer of 2018 and received a great response.

I think the coats from the 2018 spring/summer collection were the most popular.

There are 4 types of coats that are especially impressive, all made of silk, and the art of Suzume Uchida shows more power and presence.

The series was so popular that it sold out as soon as it went on sale and had a premium price.

The first is anorexia and suicide.

This coat, which was the 37th in the collection look, was designed to match the look of Uchida's past anorexia nervosa.

It is an expression of feelings, and it says, 'Anorexia. I want to eat to death, but I can't because I'm afraid of getting fat. Then cut off the small intestine and make the body unable to absorb nutrients.

If I had died then, I would have become such a ghost. A comment was also made.

The second is the 39th appearance of "Yubikiri."

In the work called "Yubikiri," she commented, "If you lie, you will be killed and I will die," and I think this work shows her hidden emotions.

The third one is "The Night of the Mayfly".

Regarding this work, Uchida commented, "I cannot reach you."

It is an impressive work of women except for this one in the dark. Do you feel that the existence itself is like a shadow?

In addition to the collection, a small amount of black silk jackets was sold only at Isetan. Personally, I prefer the jacket in shape and color size.

The fourth is the “red fruit ” that was the last look.

The expression of the woman lit by the candle has a certain atmosphere.

It has a back print and the front is completely black, but it is just what you'd expect from Yohji Yamamoto, and the shape itself is not cut, so the details of the coat were wonderful.

I was hoping that they would be released as plain coats in different materials.
