This season's tactical jacket comes in two colors, Black and Brown Gray
The TVA Tactical Jacket, which has been available as a standard item every season with design changes, is now available in two colors, Black and Brown Gray.
When we asked Mr. Okaniwa, the designer, about the intention of creating the Brown Gray color this season, he said that he imagined a fusion of two contradictory elements, technical and nostalgic.
The fact that he dares to use product dyeing for tech items also shows his commitment.
Design combining multiple functional materials
The design of this item looks like a remake of an item due to the combinations of multiple functional materials.
The material used is three types of 3-layer material and one type of nylon taffeta, all of which have a water-repellent finish.
The product is dyed to remove the tech items' characteristics, creating a nostalgic look and a relaxed impression that is easy to coordinate other clothes with.
Serious water repellency
It is difficult to directly test the water repellency of a product, so we asked the manufacturer for confirmation.
The water repellency may be slightly reduced due to the product dyeing process, but the 3-layer material with high water repellency is treated with seam tape from the inside (this is done after the product is dyed), so even if it gets wet, it will not penetrate to the inside.
Zip design for a wider range of wearing styles
One of the features of this season's tactical jackets is the ability to change the look with the zip design.
The hood is detachable, and the zips on the sleeves can be opened and closed to change the silhouette.
The YKK watertight zips keep the garment water-repellent. The design is also finished in a way that is typical of tech items.
Regarding the balance of the placement of fabrics and zips, Mr. Okaniwa says that the distribution of fabrics is done in areas that he thinks are appropriate by looking at the tension and hardness of the material, while focusing on the appearance.
