For today's post, we would like to change it up a little bit and instead of a styling post, we would like to introduce some product information about making garments and today's post will be about Reversible Sewing.
We actually have the item that use this method and these items are the DEVOA Jacket U-brid Wool and Coat U-brid Wool that we received this season.
Different people value different aspects of garments and each person has various views but these views are largely divided into 2, the first being Fashion Lovers, this group is all about trends and cultural elements and are people who value how others see their fashion sense fro the outside. The other being Clothing Lovers, these are those who are interested in the invisible parts of garments such as the comfort, what material was used and how it was made.
Of course many of us want quality and comfort in our day to day lives and there might be more people who do not really know much about sewing or do not care too much for how their garments were made.
In this post, we will be touching a little more about this so we hope you will be interested in this topic!
First and formost, what is reversible sewing?
Well, the name itself does speak for itself and you might be able to get a jist about this method; using this method means you will be able to wear the items inside out.
This method is a very advanced technique that only skillful technicians will be able to pull it off.
For reversible sewing, double fabric i used and tailored with only one frontal cover.
A double fabric material is then woven using 2 different kinds of yarns which are the warp and weft on the surface and back, as if 2 woven fabrics are overlapped. First, the double woven fabric is cut according to the pattern and the the seam thread portion is cut using a special machine, it then can be peeled into 2 pieces.
Then, leave only one of the cloths which were peeled off to two pieces by overlapping the parts to be sewn together, then sew the remaining 3 sheets with a sewing machine. The remaining piece is then sewn by hand so as to hide the stitch.
Through that process, sewing threads can not be seen on both the front and back like the sleeve and body part of the photo, and the seam allowance part will be finished like a raised part with a uniform width.
Such sewing methods are seen done perfectly by the very advanced and skilled craftsmen from DEVOA's jackets.
In addition to ease the movement pattern, it reduced the weight especially for autumn and winter outer wears which improves comfort.
That being said, there are reasons for expensive pieces like these as compared to cheaper ones.
