Birth Handle was developed in the spring-summer collection of 2010, the 5th season since Iwanaga started cornelian taurus in the fall and winter of 2007.

Since then, the design of the double handle with the motif of the sword pattern, which is the brand signature, is one of the representative bags of the brand that is popular in iconic.

Even if you know it, you won't be able to use it much, but the fact that the old season is always available shows that it is a long-selling item that is loved so long that you don't have to update it even now!

The name Birth Handle comes from the phrase “Birth” which refers to a small handle that pops out of a large handle.

In addition, this is the only bag with a special design where the zipper puller is as big as the handle and the small puller comes out.

This design is also made under the theme of "Birth", so it is a special design only for this bag.

The layered design of the large handle and the small handle is very innovative, and it is not just a simple design, but also useful in terms of usability.

I have been using several shoulder tote-type leather bags, including cornelian taurus, but when the size exceeds a certain level, various problems appear when I hold the handle with my hand.

Because most shoulder tote bags are designed to be carried over the shoulder, the handle is a bit too long to hold.

Therefore, when I was walking, my bag swung and hit my feet, and I often felt uncomfortable with my hands, but the Birth Handle with a small handle layered minimizes the swinging, so it is very comfortable to use with hands!

I usually wear oversized clothes, so I often hold the bag in my hand without hanging it on my shoulder to keep the silhouette of the clothes, so this function is very useful.

It's an even more wonderful bag with both design and functionality.

However, the reason why this bag is so good that it is not currently available in a collection is that because of the complexity of the design and manufacturing process of this layered handle, it is now a bag that only the designer can make, so even if it is available in a collection, it cannot be mass-produced.

Therefore, this bag is not available outside of special order, so it is recommended for people who want a special bag that they don't want to wear.

About the change in appearance and usability.

As my home is close to my office, I basically use Birth Handle not for daily use, but for traveling, when I need to carry around a PC. but there are many things that I find useful when I actually use them.

For example, when you put the long handle over your shoulder, the side pocket is in a position where you can access it like a pants pocket, so you can easily take out your wallet, cell phone, or pass case when one hand is blocked.

The reason for the material change and leather care.

If you're familiar with the early days of Birth Handle, you might want to know why the leather is different from the early days.

When the Birth Handle is developed in the past, we used a leather called Horse Smooth which was not developed because we could only get a very small size leather, we changed it to leather like a matte shrink.

Since the Horse Smooth used in the original Birth Handle is not available now, it uses the Glove Steer, the leather with the closest expression.

Glove steer is characterized by its matte, elegant, and lightweight, but after using it for a while, the leather surface may become slightly whitish.

This can be prevented by maintenance, so this time we will introduce the best care method and care supplies recommended by cornelian taurus.

The product that Iwanaga actually gave me and recommended was this SAPHIR brand's Dubin oil.

I also bought this, but it is sold at about 1300 yen on Amazon.

Dabinoil is hard to become lustrous when wiped with a dry cloth after drying, so it can replenish oil while keeping the expression of matte texture leather, so it is recommended for leather such as matte shrink leather as well as glove steer.

In addition, replenishing oil, compensates for the lightened color, preventing the difference in color between the handle and the one you touch often, and suppressing water penetration.

The way to use it is to remove dirt and dust on the surface with cloth or brush-like shoes.

After that, apply oil all over with a soft cloth or special cloth.

At that time, if you apply a large amount of Dubin oil suddenly, the color of the matte leather will become dark like a stain, so it is important to check the amount you use while trying it on an unnoticeable place such as the bottom and blend it into the whole.

Then, when the cream dries, wipe it with a clean cloth to finish.

By the way, if you are looking for something made of lustrous leather such as oil shrink or cow mineral, SAPHIR's beeswax is also recommended!

This was also sold at Amazon for about 1100 yen.

I also bought beeswax, but I haven't tried it yet and I don't know the effect, but it is different from the Dubin oil, and it seems that the luster will come out fairly well if you wipe it with a dry cloth after applying the cream.

As for the method of care, it is said that it is good to spread it thinly little by little like the Dubin oil.
