This is a new sneaker collection by designer Yasuhiro Mihara who started in 2021. In 2018, designer Mihara saw vintage combat boots in a military shop in Italy and this was the beginning of sneaker production.
Although it is impossible to wear vintage shoes due to the aging deterioration of the components, "I want to make a vintage shoe that I can wear", based on the actual vintage shoes, "new" sole "PAST" was born which faithfully reproduced the worn-out texture of the heel part and the rubber that decayed due to the aging.
Mihara, who had been seriously considering "sustainability" for a long time, decided to produce these sneakers using "biodegradable" materials for everything from the sole to the upper and sewing thread. All materials used in the collection are carefully selected from environmentally friendly companies around the world.
The main point of this collection is to 'visualize' "Where, how, and from what materials" and challenge to create a collection of shoes that can be worn with confidence.
In other words, it means making shoes that can be provided to consumers with peace of mind. This is a collection that we hope will give everyone an opportunity to think about the "future of our planet".
