The Viridi-anne - 2022-23 Autumn & Winter Collection

We would like to introduce the opinions of Mr. Okaniwa, the designer of The Viridi-anne, and Mr. Machida, the sales representative, about the autumn and winter season in the form of a questionnaire.

◆Q1: Please let us know if you have any particular themes, thoughts on the works of 22-23 AW collection, or particular points.

Recently, there has been no public theme, but when designing, I was conscious of the keyword "hybrid".

It is an image that new characteristics are born by hybridization with different species (breeds) such as animals and plants.

・hybridization of modern function and tradition

・The combination of avant-garde detail design and classic silhouette

・Wabi-sabi (quiet simplicity) The expression and texture of the material

These three items are not limited to this season, but can be said to be the concept of the recent production of The Viridi-anne. We are producing the collection with these points in mind.

◆Q2: Please let us know if there are any fabrics or designs that you are particularly interested in from your autumn-winter collection.

VI-3508-06 Tactical Jacket and VI-3509-04 Tactical Pants are interesting because they are packed with various elements. It has three-dimensional pockets on elbows, thighs, etc., and forms an "exaggerated leg silhouette" by opening and closing the zipper through the kneecap.

This item is made of a combination of various functional materials (white fabric) and is specially dyed, so it is a combination of similar colors depending on how it is dyed.

This part can be said to be "the material feeling of wabi-sabi even though it is high-tech."

I think the design of the hood (the top comes off to make a high neck) is a detail that you can't find in outdoor wear.

(I used the term "avant-garde detail design" to describe this)

Also, VI-3506-06 down jacket has a pocket in an unusual place below the elbow, and the silhouette of the arm is interesting.

The design is different, but the silhouette doesn't feel like it's that big, which is one element of The Viridi-anne.

Throughout The Viridi-anne's collection there have been two main elements: "classic jacket (tailored) style" and "technical wear".

There is a season in which the two are coordinated in contradictory fashion (such as matching a Schoeller jacket with suit slacks), but this season, the texture and coloring make the two elements fit together more than before.

◆About fabric and material

As for corduroy fabric, I have rarely used it as a brand before, but this time, I am trying to incorporate it.

In addition, the fleece-lined fabric this time has been dyed and bio-washed to give it a strong used and vintage feel. Since the tone of each material is close, it is very easy to coordinate, so please try it.

Regarding the leather that is released every season, this time the jacket is made of leather and flannel (though it is not visible because of the lining), and the pants are made of leather and jersey stitch.

In short, each part is sewn with two layers of leather and another material. This item has been washed to make the stitched part bulge and give it a look.

The soft leather and fabric overlap and the padding has a bulging and reinforcing effect, making it very comfortable and attractive.

◆Q3: Please let me know if you have any styling points for autumn and winter.

This time, the tone of each material is close, so I think it is very easy to coordinate the styling in terms of color matching.

In addition, there are many styles with a top that is voluminous and the pants are neat silhouette.

There is a big stole as an accessory, and just by adding it to your styling, you can bring out a "sense of incongruity" in the balance, and even though the item itself is normal, you can create a characteristic form. I hope you enjoy the unbalance.

◆Q4：Please tell us about any personal recommendation of a product number or this product that you would like us to try.

Wool linen is a must-have item.

The item number made of wool linen fabric is plain and combined, and it can be used in a wide range from outerwear to pants. In particular, a coat with stripes and combination (VI-3515-06, VI-3510-06) is recommended.

The loose silhouette of the drop shoulder is accented by the front opening metal fittings.

I also recommend the layered pants (VI-3514-04,VI-3519-04) , and it was so useful when I took photos that I said "If you have trouble styling, these pants are the pants to go for!".

There is not much difference in the thinness of the shorts and pants, so it has a clean silhouette and is easy to balance, but it also has a design, so please try it.

As a whole, it has an impression of a calm collection, and there are many items that are easy to wear and easy to incorporate into your styling.

The "wool linen fabric" series is also recommended by the brand.

This is a classic item with a perfect expression of "The Viridi-anne's unique fabric atmosphere". It is easy for anyone to incorporate, and there are several types of coat, jacket, and pants, so please choose whichever you like.

I personally recommend the "Stripe Combo Fabric" series because it has a nice atmosphere.

Next is knitwear, but this season a relatively wide variety of knitwear items are available.

A reversible knit coat and blouson, plaid pullover knit, cotton cashmere knit, etc., there are many items that have a good atmosphere and are easy to incorporate design.

If you have one, it will give you a autumn and winter feel, so please check it out.

The last item is accessories and shoes, but first, a big stole with impact.

This is quite a large size, but it is very warm and can be a point of styling, so I would like you to try it. In addition, there is a simple leather bag released for the first time in a long time, which is also recommended secretly.

Shoes are well known every season, but not only new sneakers but also GUIDI leather slip-on derby shoes that were popular several seasons ago will be reissued, so please pay attention to them too!
