A brand that will be available at FASCINATE_THE R (Osaka Shinsaibashi) starting from this season and it is scheduled to arrive on August 24th.

OOFOS® is a recovery sandal that not only reduces the strain on the knees, lower back, and spine during walking but also has a sophisticated design that has been a topic of discussion worldwide, including in Japan since last year.

Let's explore what OOFOS® is all about, what sets it apart from other sandals, its history, and its features!

History of OOFOS®

OOFOS® was developed over two and a half years by a veteran team of sports professionals, trainers, and major shoe manufacturers in Cohasset, Massachusetts, in 2011.

OOFOS® is a recovery shoe brand that aims to help athletes, those in post-sport recovery, and individuals with extended periods of standing to alleviate stress on their feet and joints.

The brand name OOFOS® is derived from "Out of Office," signifying shoes worn after leaving the office.

Recovery shoes, intended to aid recovery from foot and joint stress for athletes and those in physically demanding roles, were prompted by the realization that while shoes causing significant impact on the feet were abundant, there was a lack of shoes designed to absorb impact and aid recovery.

This led to the creation of OOFOS® , becoming a pioneer in recovery footwear.

OOFOS® gained recognition globally for its high functionality and design. In 2018, it was recognized by the American fashion magazine "GQ" as "Best Affordable Sandals," and in 2019, it was selected by the renowned economic magazine "Forbes" as "The Best Recovery Sandals for 2019."

Features of OOFOS®

The standout feature of OOFOS® products is the special material used, known as "OOfoam™" .

Unlike the general EVA midsole, which aims to generate forward propulsion, OOfoam™ material, developed using NASA technology, features a porous structure that reduces impact rebound by 37% and alleviates foot impact during landing.

This material helps reduce stress on the knees, lower back, and spine, while the high-density footbed, patented based on ergonomic principles, gently envelops the foot and offers sturdy arch support.

The material's resilience aids in pushing the foot forward during walking or running, contributing to improved ease of movement.

The manufacturing process of OOfoam™ is treated as a top-secret within the company and is stored securely in the company's vault.

This secrecy ensures the protection of the manufacturing method, and only two people within the company have access to the manufacturing recipe.

OOFOS® products are certified by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), indicating that they are beneficial for foot health and have passed evaluations by podiatrists.

The certification enhances OOFOS® 's brand value and development, affirming the product's high effectiveness.

Available Models: "OOahh" and "OOcloog"

The initial arrivals will include two models: "OOahh" and "OOcloog." Each model's distinctive features are detailed below.

「OOcloog」

"OOcloog" features a clog-type design. It retains OOFOS® 's impact-absorbing and fitting characteristics while offering a more casual design.

The narrower opening provides a snug fit. With the toes covered, it is suitable for everyday use.

The casual design with a slightly protruding toe makes it ideal for fatigue recovery after sports activities, as well as for outdoor, leisure, and everyday wear.

「OOahh」

This model features a slide design with a covered upper foot and no heel strap.

"OOahh" offers a slightly roomier fit compared to OOcloog, making it easy to put on. It can be worn with or without socks, making it versatile from fashion items to town use.

Suitable for casual and smart-casual styles, it is an item that matches various occasions.

OOFOS® offers not only solid technological backing, diverse variations, and reasonable pricing but also stress-free comfort due to its seamless design. This makes it a great choice for personal use as well as for gifting.
